Al arranque de la temporada de lluvias, Alfredo Hernández presidente de Cruz Roja Sahuayo dijo que se ha habilitado el inmueble de esta institución en caso de que sea necesario utilizarlo como albergue temporal.
Señaló que en previsión de que pudiera requerirse se ha habilitado el edificio de esta delegación para recibir a un número de familias no determinado de manera permanente o en estado transitorio en lo que se les reubica a otro espacio.
Señaló que no se ha determinado el número de personas que pudieran permanecer albergadas en este espacio sin embargo destacó que al menos este albergue podrá apoyar en caso de ser necesario ya que, de necesitarse, la misma Cruz Roja podría gestionar las despensas alimenticias necesarias para las personas que se requiera en caso de una contingencia climática.
Es de destacar que la delegación de la Cruz Roja se ubica en la parte baja de esta ciudad que es tradicionalmente la que sufre las inundaciones por lo que este edificio podría representar el primer refugio disponible en caso de que se presentaran inundaciones.
En ese sentido es de destacar que si bien el municipio de Sahuayo ha realizado los trabajos preventivos en los drenes locales, esto no ha ocurrido con otros municipios como el de Venustiano Carranza lo que podría incrementar el riesgo de desbordes que inundaran las partes bajas de los municipios de Sahuayo y Jiquilpan.
Ante ello el delegado local de Cruz Roja señaló que se han dado los trabajos necesarios para que las instalaciones cuenten con lo suficiente en materia sanitaria y de seguridad para atender a las necesidades más apremiantes.
Vale precisar que en diversos municipios de esta región se han habilitado ya espacios en caso e ser necesario ante una contingencia.
