– Montserrat Zavala, campeona mundialista de breakdance habla sobre las fortalezas de este deporte

Zamora abrió sus puertas al breakdance, disciplina deportiva que durante administraciones pasadas había sido estigmatizada. Y ahora, en este “Buen Gobierno” apostaron a impulsar a los talentos de este deporte, a través del concurso “Transformando juventudes”.
Esto rumbo al primer Torneo Estatal Freestyle Rap que se llevó a cabo este sábado en la unidad deportiva El Chamizal, donde participaron 20 jóvenes de 10 a 30 años, en categoría individual
Montserrat Guadalupe Zavala Cahue, campeona mundialista de breakdance, detalló que este deporte se desarrolla en batallas, “ocupa dos personas que se enfrentan demostrando sus mejores pasos, su mejor expresión. Se trata de una lucha de poder”.
Zavala Cahue participó como juez de este evento en el que evalúo la creatividad, musicalidad, la expresión corporal y del rostro, la propuesta, así como la manera en que cada participante rompió paradigmas para generar su propio estilo. También calificó la fluidez, la expresividad y el desarrollo de cada participante.
Indicó que de manera paralela varias regiones de la geografía michoacana realizan concursos de este tipo para elegir a los 3 mejores que participarán en el torneo estatal, aunque aun no tienen la fecha confirmada, “es así como se llevan a cabo concursos en las regiones de Pátzcuaro, Uruapan y Morelia”.
Habló sobre su experiencia en este deporte, “es muy grato desempeñarlo, porque me da la oportunidad de viajar, tanto al interior de la República, como fuera del país. He competido con jóvenes de Colombia y Ecuador”.
Monserrat comenzó a bailar breakdance desde los 13 años, atraída por las acrobacias de esta disciplina. Actualmente es medallistas de dos oros en los Juegos CONADE 2022 y primera mexicana en ganar oro en breakdance, tiene 20 años y es oriunda de la capital.
Además, estudia ingeniería en biotecnología y su aspiración en el deporte es seguir dejando en alto a su país, estado y municipio, “quiero seguir trayendo medallas internacionales y también me gustaría impulsar a los nuevos talentos de este deporte”.
“Se trata de una expresión muy libre, se pueden adoptar pasos de otra disciplina, cada participante pone su propia esencia. Si bien es cierto, es un deporte con bases y técnicas, pero estas se pueden romper para proponer e imprimir tu propio estilo”, resaltó.
Finalmente añadió que optó por esta disciplina en la búsqueda de su libertad, “desde niña fui la rebelde de la casa. La magia de este deporte radica en que contribuye a que formemos nuestra propia identidad. Este deporte contribuye a desarrollar diversas habilidades: fuerza, elasticidad, autocontrol, disciplina y carácter”.
