Se plantea que el próximo 15 de abril culmine la campaña de control de roedores en municipios de la Ciénega en que se incrementó exponencialmente la presencia de los roedores al grado de representar riesgo de invadir zonas urbanas.
Esto fue señalado por Felipe Ruiz Cruz de la Junta Local de Sanidad Vegetal región Ciénega quien dijo que de acuerdo al umbral de acción son seis roedores por sitio de trampeo como máximo para determinar que hay causas para incrementar las acciones de control.
“En los meses de enero y febrero y marzo en que se hizo el trampeo para determinar la población que existe y encontramos que está muy por encima del umbral de acción pues encontramos sitios de trampeo con 30 o más roedores”.
Esto, dijo, implicó que se procediera de inmediato a establecer los mecanismos de acción para combatir a la población de roedores en los municipios de Briseñas, Vista Hermosa, Pajacuarán y Venustiano Carranza donde se detectó el incremento en la población de roedores, crecimiento, dijo Ruiz Cruz que no fue de manera exclusiva en esta región sino de manera generalizada en la entidad y otras entidades del país.
Ante el fenómeno de la migración de la rata de campo a las zonas urbanas de las cabeceras municipales,. El especialista señaló que si bien sí representan un riesgo, curiosamente existen más facilidades de controlar a la población de ratas puesto que al seno del hogar, las mismas familias procuran el exterminio de los roedores que ingresan a sus hogares.
Es de destacar que en lugares como Jiquilpan las familias avecindadas cerca de río, fosas o lotes baldíos han reportado un incremento significativo en la población de roedores en sus hogares y en las calles.
De acuerdo a Ruiz Cruz, el incremento en la población de roedores podría atribuirse al excedente de alimento que se generó durante las lluvias del 2014 en esta región y la ausencia de depredadores naturales.
