Ma. Guadalupe Covarrubias, Zamora
Ayer domingo por la mañana en el parque de pelota Francisco González Ibarra arrancó el Torneo de Verano de Beisbol denominado Miguel huevo Medina, donde participan ocho novenas de las regiones de Zamora, La Piedad y Jiquilpan; en el mismo evento se entregaron premiaciones a los campeones de la liga sabatina juvenil y la mayor.
Mañana de fiesta la que se vivió en el diamante local, mañana beisbolera donde la alcaldesa Rosa Hilda Abascal Rodríguez exhortó a los peloteros que formados entre los corredores de la segunda y tercera base a luchar con disciplina y coraje deportivo cada uno de sus encuentros, para posteriormente dar por inaugurado el Torneo de Verano o de Aguas.
Las novenas de Cardenales de Ario, (actuales campeones), Diamantes de La Piedad (subcampeones), Rojos, Torpedos, Tarascos y Gavilanes de Atecucario, Águilas Reales de Churintzio y Jiquilpan, desfilaron ante la mesa de honor integrada además de a Alcaldesa, por Jaime Escobar regidor de Juventud, Deporte y Capacidades Especiales, Julio Ramírez Coordinador Municipal de Deportes, Anastacio Puga, presidente de la Liga Regional de Beisbol, Rosa Ma. Reyes Lomelí, coordinadora de eventos especiales de la Liga y Miguel el huevo Medina y juntos hicieron los honores a la bandera y entonaron el himno nacional mexicano, a cargo de la banda de guerra de la DSPM.
Posteriormente se entregaron trofeos a los ganadores del torneo sabatino y torneo regional, a Rojillos de Jacona y Cardenales de Ario respectivamente, además se les entregaron un juego de pelotas de beisbol.
En su intervención, Jaime Escobar mencionó la importancia de estar unificados en ese deporte, de esa forma impulsarlo, “tenemos pendiente la escuela de beisbol que próximamente iniciaremos”.
Tacho Puga, agradeció a las autoridades municipales todo el apoyo para este deporte, “ello nos obliga a ser más responsables y seguir fomentando el beisbol”.
Una vez terminada la ceremonia cívica y entrega de reconocimientos, Miguel elhuevo Medina, nombre que llevará el Torneo, expresó visiblemente emocionado su agradecimiento a todos los que han confiado en él dentro y fuera de los diamantes.
Como acto final, la Alcaldesa, lanzó la primera bola con la que daba apertura al Torneo de Verano o de Aguas de Beisbol.
