– Requerido para acabar con plagas; evitará colapso económico, ambiental, alimentario y social en región Zamora

Productores de la región Zamora aprovecharon la visita a esta ciudad de representantes de la Asociación Nacional de Exportadores de Berries (Aneberries) para solicitar hagan un esfuerzo conjunto con las autoridades municipales de esta zona conurbada (Zamora-Jacona-Tangancícuaro) a efecto de cristalizar la construcción y operación de un Centro de Investigación.
Antonio Samano, productor y representante de Agrofresa, detalló que este centro debe incluir un laboratorio de análisis fitopatólogo para prever y detectar plagas y enfermedades en cultivos de la región para poder atacar en tiempo y forma.
Así lo expuso en el marco de la rueda de prensa donde se dio a conocer el doceavo Congreso Internacional de Aneberries añadió que, al contar con este centro, además de fortalecer la economía regional, evitará la fuga de jornaleros hacia el extranjero y servirá para cuidar el ambiente, “no vamos a gastar en tanto pesticida”.
Puntualizó que se busca sea un centro con perfil biológico-ecológico, que venga a beneficiar a todo el Valle, “tenemos que cristalizar esta intención entre todos, porque varias veces hemos colapsado a consecuencia de plagas en los cultivos”.
Dijo que luego de las plagas se retrasan en la recuperación, “mínimo 10 años y eso nos afecta todos. Ya que todos comemos y vivimos del campo”.
Aseguró que el sector productivo está para apoyar con terreno, con recurso, con participación, “tenemos capital humano: investigadores, científicos y la disposición de estos, falta que alguien lideree”.
Igualmente, subrayó, corresponde a los presidentes municipales de esta zona, en conjunto con Aneberries, lograr este proyecto, “sobre todo porque de todos los productores, hoy por hoy, esta asociación está reforzada, organizada y cuenta con más recursos”.
Relató que en la región se han tenido colapsos por cuestiones fitosanitarias, a consecuencia de las plagas, “hace una década, por ejemplo, la plaga paratriosa acabo con la producción de papa y algunas otras hortalizas del Valle de Zamora”.
“Es así como tuvimos que reinventarnos y meter otro tipo de cultivos como arándanos, frambuesas y zarzamora, pero también nos llego otra plaga denominada Drosophila Suzukii, no fue de mucha relevancia porque ataco más a unos cultivos que a otros”, indicó.
Sin embargo, salieron adelante, aunque ahora, mencionó, “nos está llegando otra plaga más tremenda, un hongo denominado “Pestalotia” y que no lo estamos atendiendo como es, simplemente nos llega, nos agarra sin estar preparados y nos devasta, no únicamente a los productores, sino que a todo el sistema económico, productivo y social”.
Concluyó al decir que todo lo anterior provoca que mucha gente se vaya a Estados Unidos a trabajar, “porque no hemos generado la suficiente base productiva aquí, para poder salir adelante. De ahí que es urgente que contemos con este Centro de Investigación”.
