– Sin embargo, hay confianza de abastecimiento en estas lluvias

“Históricamente, de mayo a junio son los meses en que las presas de la región se encuentran en sus niveles más bajos, toda vez que es la época en que concluye la temporada de riego de primavera-verano. Sin embargo, se tiene la confianza que con las lluvias de los próximos días se abastezcan”.
Así lo informó Luis Javier Zavala López, jefe de operación del distrito de riego 061, detalló que actualmente en la presa Urepetiro, ubicada en Tlazazalca, se tiene un almacenamiento de 1.551 millones de metros cúbicos, mientras que su capacidad total es de 8.5 millones de metros cúbicos.
Por lo que, agregó, están al 18% de su capacidad total; en tanto, la presa San Juanico, ubicada en Cotija, tiene un almacenamiento de 39.451 millones de metros cúbicos, siendo que tienen una capacidad de 63 millones de metros cúbicos. Por lo que está a un 62% de su capacidad.
Recordó que en el distrito 061 se tiene una superficie de 17 mil hectáreas que irrigan ambas presas y con los manantiales que están “aguas arriba” del distrito, es decir, aquellos que se ubican en la Cañada de los 11 pueblos, que abastecen al Río Duero.
Mencionó que el distrito del riego 061 abarca Tlazazalca, Tangancícuaro, Zamora, Jacona, Ixtlán y Pajacuarán, “son 3 ciclos de cultivos: en la temporada otoño-invierno (noviembre-febrero) se cultivan trigo, hortalizas (tomate, jitomate, cebollas), así como frijol y garbanzo; en primavera – verano (marzo-junio) se cultiva maíz, sorgo, hortalizas y frijol y perenes (durante todo el ciclo), se cultivan alfalfas, frutales (zarzamoras, fresas, arándanos y pastos).
Concluyó al decir que prevén una temporada de lluvias favorable, la cual se extenderá hasta octubre, “ha sido una temporada con algunas precipitaciones pluviales que han sido favorables para la región. Anualmente esperamos un acumulado de 800 milímetros, no obstante, hasta el momento llevamos más del 17% de lo esperado. Confiamos que continuaran las lluvias”.
