-Ayuntamiento aprobó contratación de dos brigadistas

El municipio ya está preparado para afrontar la temporada de incendios forestales, señaló Marco Antonio Álvarez Cabrera, regidor de ecología y medio ambiente.
Dijo “en la sesión pasada se aprobó el apoyo que se le da a la brigada regional, porque es un poco difícil hacer una exclusivamente del municipio, dado que se requiere de personal muy capacitado. La región Lerma Chapala abarca desde Tangancícuaro hasta la Ciénaga, son alrededor de 18 municipios, sin embargo no todos participan. Cada municipio participante destina un presupuesto de pago para sus brigadistas y el número de estos a contratar”.
Agregó “en el caso de Jacona, estamos pagando dos salarios durante la temporada de febrero al 15 de junio de 150 pesos diarios”.
Indicó que como no son suficientes estas dos personas, los auxilian las brigadas del resto de los municipios de la región citada aunado a personal de Protección Civil así como de la Comisión Forestal de Michoacán (COFOM) y Comisión Nacional Forestal (CONAFOR), por lo que en promedio e se estima trabajen alrededor de 10 o más brigadistas, en caso de que se requiera.
Aseveró que el primero de febrero se dio inicio con la campaña de preparación, en coordinación con las dependencias antes citadas “ya se empezaron hacer quemas preventivas en los Cerros Cuate y Cerro Azul de esta ciudad. Esto nos ayuda a que no se hagan incendios forestales de grandes magnitudes, porque son quemas controladas donde solamente se quema la maleza y parte del forraje”.
Comentó que en 2013 se siniestraron 60 hectáreas a causa de los incendios forestales, mientras que el año pasado disminuyó porque se adelantó la temporada de lluvias, por lo que únicamente se siniestraron 29 hectáreas, “los siguientes lugares representaron focos rojos en el municipio en cuestión de incendios forestales: en los Cerros Cuate, el Cerro Azul y el Cerro Grande donde se tiene flora caducifolia, encinal y matorrales”.
Dijo finalmente que este año los incendios forestales dependerán de la temporada de lluvias, “eso es lo que nos da la posibilidad de saber cómo va a estar esta zona si empiezan antes, es decir en Mayo, va a disminuir el riesgo. Porque hay que recordar que en marzo, abril y mayo es cuando están en su apogeo los incendios forestales, porque el pastizal ya está seco y hay gran cantidad de viento, lo que propicia que el fuego se extienda; además muchas de las veces son provocados por ecuareros o intencionales para darle un uso diferente a la tierra“.
