Debido a la saturación existente resulta ya imposible la integración de nuevas cooperativas pesqueras en el lado michoacano del Lago de Chapala por lo que los pescadores independientes deberán unirse a las ya existentes.
Esto fue señalado por Luis Manuel Gutiérrez Murillo, jefe de la oficina auxiliar de la Comisión Nacional de Pesca (Conapesca) quien aseguró que esto debido a que actualmente los espacios propicios para la pesca están saturados en el embalse natural en cuestión resulta literalmente imposible que se autorice la integración de una nueva cooperativa.
De hecho y de acuerdo al funcionario entrevistado, esta suerte de veda de integración de organizaciones de pesca está establecida en todo el territorio nacional por lo que aquellos pescadores que actualmente realizan actividades de pesca de manera independiente en realidad lo hacen de manera ilegal ya que normativamente los permisos para pesca comercial se expiden únicamente a cooperativas u organizaciones pesqueras y no a particulares.
DE esta forma la única posibilidad de que estos pescadores regularicen su situación es integrándose a cooperativas ya establecidas las cuales deberán notificar a la Conapesca de cada una de las aceptaciones que hagan de pescadores independientes.
Sin embargo, agregó Gutiérrez Murillo, este proceso no resulta fácil toda vez que hay una marcada resistencia por parte de las cooperativas para aceptar nuevos miembro ya que los espacios de pesca rentable son cada vez más reducidos y de menor productividad.
En lo que hace a las cifras de este embalse, el entrevistado señaló que la productividad se ha mantenido a un ritmo estable aunque ello no implica que se el óptimo para los cerca de 800 pescadores michoacanos que se tienen registrados en diversas cooperativas de los municipios de Venustiano Carranza y Régules.
