El próximo 31 de agosto a las 12 horas en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) Extensión Zamora, Dr. Ignacio Chávez, inaugurarán un edificio que contempla 3 laboratorios: un anfiteatro para prácticas de anatomía, un laboratorio de cirugía experimental y uno de usos múltiples, que complementarán los laboratorios ya existentes de parasitología, microbiología y el de histología. Este nuevo edificio también incluye un aula para sesionar con capacidad para 200 personas.
El acto estará encabezado Medardo Serna González, rector de la UMSNH, Silvia Hernández Capi, directora de la Facultad de Ciencias médicas y biológicas, Carlos Aranza Doniz, secretario de salud, Román Acosta Rosales, delegado regional del IMSS, Adrián Avellaneda, delegado estatal del ISSSTE y muy probablemente el gobernador electo, Silvano Aureoles, entre otros, quienes darán el arranque formal del ciclo escolar 2015-2016 de la carrera de medicina, tanto de la facultad de Morelia como de esta de Zamora.
Así lo informó Héctor Padilla Aguirre, coordinador de la Extensión Zamora, quien indicó que para esta facultad se tiene una matrícula total de 150 alumnos, 25 de estos son de nuevo ingreso.
“Anteriormente solo teníamos un edificio, pero el actual rector promovió que se concluyera este otro, ya le pusieron el piso, el plafón y las lámparas. Para este próximo lunes ya quedará listo. Desconozco la inversión”, informó.
Dijo, “con la cristalización de estos 3 laboratorios ya no tendremos que ir a Morelia, como lo hacíamos cada mes, para poder ir a las prácticas y que en ocasiones no se tenía para solventar los gastos, aunado a que los alumnos se exponían en cada viaje”.
“Por vez primera tendremos los cinco años de carrera para cursarse en estas instalaciones. Anteriormente en el 2002 había 4º y 5º únicamente; luego en el 2003 se aumentó 3º, desde el 2009 se incrementó el 2º año y en ese ciclo ya contamos con los 5 años de carrera. Por lo que la matricula se aumentó en relación al año anterior en un 25 por ciento”.
Indicó que la carrera de medicina hoy en día es una de las más demandadas, debido a que este gremio contantemente tiene trabajo y bien pagado “desde hace 5 años se lleva un control en la selección de jóvenes aspirantes. Para la acreditación de la facultad no debe haber exceso de estudiantes. En el 2002 la facultad de medicina tenía 7 mil alumnos y actualmente solo ya se aceptan 525 de nuevo ingreso. De los cuales 500 son para la facultad de Morelia y 25 para esta extensión”.
Comentó que fueron cerca de 4 mil alumnos los que presentaron examen CENEVAL, órgano descentralizado para ingresar a la carrera de medicina de la UMSNH, pero reiteró que sólo 525 se quedaron.
Señaló que los más de 3 mil aspirantes que ser quedaron fuera terminan estudiando otras opciones similares como la carrera de nutrición u odontología, concluyó.
