Apenas el 20 por ciento de los menores michoacanos con capacidades diferentes es atendido por el sistema educativo estatal esto derivado de la carencia de infraestructura dijo Salvador Landa supervisor para las zonas de La Piedad y Sahuayo de educación especial.
En el marco de la celebración de las XVII Olimpiadas especiales del Centro de Atención Múltiple de Jiquilpan el directivo señaló que en algunas regiones el rezago en cuanto a la infraestructura de los planteles para atender a este sector poblacional es de hasta 20 años.
Destacó que es necesario que se implementen políticas públicas que garanticen los espacios adecuados para que un mayor número de estos niños y jóvenes puedan acceder a una educación formal ya que actualmente el número de estudiantes que no pueden ser atendidos por falta de espacios es cada vez mayor.
En lo anterior coincidió Francisco Álvarez Moreno, director del plantel Jiquilpan quien destacó que en el caso concreto de Jiquilpan el espacio recién construido resulta ya insuficiente toda vez que se tiene que atender a dos grupos en una misma aula.
Thelma Carrillo Gastélum directora del Centro de Atención Múltiple de Sahuayo fue más allá al afirmar que de manera general el desarrollo de infraestructura se ha dado sin tomar en cuenta a las personas con capacidades diferentes tanto en el ámbito del aprendizaje como en los temas de movilidad.
Salvador Landa detallo también que es necesario que se busquen los mecanismos que permitan generar estos espacios de aprendizaje y evitar que por este tipo de carencias los jóvenes y niños con capacidades diferentes puedan quedar al margen de los sistemas escolarizados.
Al encuentro deportivo se dieron cita padres de familia y estudiantes de las localidades de Marcos Castellanos, Jiquilpan y San Pedro Caharo, antes Venustiano Carranza.
