– Alcalde de Tangancícuaro encabezó el segundo congreso de labio y paladar hendido y la jornada de cirugías a bajo costo de este padecimiento

“Es fundamental que las mujeres antes y durante el embarazo consuman ácido fólico para evitar malformaciones congénitas como el labio o paladar hendido”, señaló David Melgoza Montañez, presidente municipal de Tangancícuaro en la apertura del Congreso de dicho padecimiento y continuación de la jornada de cirugías a bajo costo.
En evento celebrado en las instalaciones de la Sociedad Medica de Zamora, recordó que desde el año 2009 que trabajó en el Instituto Nacional de Pediatría, llevó a la capital michoacana procedimientos quirúrgicos para corregir dicha malformación, preocupado por los menores que presentan dicho padecimiento.
“Y desde hace 6 años que llegue a mi pueblo Tangancícuaro solicite el apoyo de los presidentes de las dos administraciones pasadas y me negaron el recurso para traer capital humano y realizar jornadas quirúrgicas de este tipo”, mencionó.
Consideró que sólo con voluntad, decisión y actitud de servicio se puede hacer muchas cosas, “hoy en esta administración hemos traído cirujanos altruistas, todos ellos son empáticos con el prójimo, ya que hacen propio el sufrimiento de otro ser humano. Toda esta jornada se logra gracias al humanismo y una buena actitud de todos los cirujanos que se sumaron”.
Recalcó que los valores refrendan la dignidad humana, “ayer, los compañeros anestesiólogos de la región que se invitaron para iniciar con estas jornadas, nos quedaron mal y no vinieron, solamente llego uno que incluso venia desde Oaxaca, quien viajó 15 horas para estar con nosotros. Por lo que él tuvo que hacer todas las cirugías del día de ayer, por eso debemos aplaudir el esfuerzo del doctor Larios”.
En ese sentido, dijo a los estudiantes de medicina que siempre deben privilegiar la cuestión humanitaria y poner por encima de todo: los valores, “bien lo decía Nelson Mandela, la herramienta más poderosa para cambiar al mundo es la educación o si supiera que voy a morir mañana, sembraría un árbol, decía Martin Luther King y si educas a un niño, no tendrás que castigarlo de adulto, decía Pitágoras”.
Aseveró que estas jornadas de salud están enfocadas a ayudar a toda la población más vulnerable, sin embargo, “somos un gobierno para todos” por lo que también estamos atendiendo a personas con posibilidad económica e incluso de otros municipios.
Aseguró que el menos calificado de los cirujanos plásticos que participan en esta jornada, tiene apenas 6 mil casos de labio paladar hendido operados a lo largo de su trayectoria profesional. Por lo que todos tienen una vasta experiencia.
En este acontecimiento médico también estuvieron Federico Núñez Perea, presidente de la RENAPRED (Red Nacional para la Prevención de la Discapacidad) y el Doctor Santiago Padilla, director de la clínica ISAM; por citar algunos.
