“Los fallecimientos recientes y coincidentes ocurridos el pasado 13 de Abril del 2015, tanto del novelista alemán, Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1999, Günter Grass (1927) y el ensayista y periodista uruguayo, Eduardo Galeano (1940), tienen gran impacto porque ambos son de los autores más representativos del siglo XX y destaca su obra que es best sellers (de gran venta), lo cual nos pone a reflexionar ¿qué estamos aportando como generación actual?, señaló Jorge Eduardo Ortiz de Montellano García, historiador de arte.
Añadió “poco a poco se nos han ido grandes figuras de la literatura: en 2010 murió Carlos Monsivais; en 2012, Carlos Fuentes; en 2014 García Márquez y José Emilio Pacheco. Eso nos pone a reflexionar ¿en la actualidad quienes son nuestros personajes que van a trascender en el tiempo, o si estamos construyendo algún personaje culturalmente importante?”, se cuestionó.
Y es que dijo “se ha criticado mucho en este siglo que ya las nuevas tecnologías, así como las redes sociales roban mucho tiempo y la gente va haciendo a un lado el dedicarse a estudiar, intelectualizar, a reflexionar. No debemos descuidar todo eso, de tal manera que sólo estemos recordando grandes figuras que ya fueron, sin estar aportando algún nuevo artista de esa magnitud”.
Agregó “este tipo de noticias nos pueden servir de pretexto para acercarnos a la literatura no sólo de Günter Grass, sino de todos los alemanes, no solo de Galeano, sino de la literatura latinoamericana en general. Es una mala ocasión porque es el deceso de estos autores, pero es un buen pretexto para acercarnos a la literatura y en caso de que ya sean lectoras ávidos conocer un poco más debido a que siempre es muy amplio el panorama de las obras literarias”.
Habló sobre las obras más representativas de ambos autores “Galeano fue un escritor muy importante para América Latina, tiene una obra que se llama “ Las venas abiertas de América Latina de 1971”, ahí plasma una visión completa de lo que es ser latinoamericano. En este continente ocurre que todos los países se encuentran hermanados, provocado en gran medida por su literatura. A partir de la lengua de Cervantes se unifica toda América Latina”.
“Otra de las obras de Galeano es “Memoria de fuego de 1986” donde se dedica a criticar de una manera muy constructiva lo que es el sistema en el que vive una sociedad. Tanto México como América Latina siempre han tenido problemas de revoluciones e invasiones, que propician una falta de identidad, pero él través de su literatura hace una aportación muy importante: darle identidad a lo que es ser latinoamericano”.
Mencionó que “una de las obras más representativas de Günter Grass fue “Mi siglo” que trata de todos los personajes que enmarcaron el siglo XX y cómo se fue desarrollando este, sobre todo para los escritores y artistas es un gran tema de inspiración dado que el siglo XX tuvo de todo: desarrollo tecnológico, económico, pero a su vez tuvo pestes, hambrunas, enfermedades, golpes de estado, etc.”, finalizó.
