Con una afluencia de 25 mil visitantes estiman cerrar la organización de Semana Santa en la Calzada durante esta administración. Será efectuada del 2 al 5 de abril en el citado lugar en donde se estima que puedan acudir familias enteras al evento, ya que habrá una diversidad de actividades.
“Contemplamos la participación de 80 expositores en el evento, además de talleres manuales y espectáculos culturales como parte de las actividades importantes para atraer turistas a esta localidad. Hay estadísticas de años pasados que nos indican que la ocupación hotelera es de 60 por ciento durante el próximo periodo vacacional”, informó Jorge Armando Su Su, director de fomento turístico.
Comentó que a lo largo de 2 años, el evento ha dejado una derrama superior a los 2 millones de pesos traducidos en ocupación hotelera, prestación de servicios y la compra de productos elaborados o vendidos por los comerciantes de esta localidad que son quienes ven mejorados sus ingresos.
Indicó que han hecho uso de la creatividad y de la colaboración de los expositores para que el evento resulte un éxito, a pesar de las limitantes económicas que existen actualmente ya que la intención es que por medio de esas actividades crezca el número de visitantes al municipio.
“A ello debemos agregar el plus de que hay una festividad religiosa importante que es la del Señor de la Salud, ubicado en El Calvario y en la que participan más de 100 mil feligreses que vienen de diferentes puntos para conocer la imagen, pero también para hacer el culto respectivo con base en sus creencias”, dijo.
Subrayó que sería lamentable que las autoridades entrantes no le dieran continuidad a este tipo de eventos porque finalmente han abonado al esfuerzo para consolidar y potenciar la actividad turística en esta localidad que se ha caracterizado por tener atractivos importantes en materia arquitectónica, gastronómica y cultural.
“Esperamos que los resultados de estos eventos sean una motivación para la administración entrante y que se pueda arraigar este tipo de eventos entre la población que con el paso de los años los han adoptado como una tradición”, finalizó.
