-Mala alimentación, sedentarismo y estrés emocional, son veneno para el corazón

Al conmemorarse ayer el día mundial del corazón, Sergio Navarrete Peña, presidente de la fundación O Madre y el Centro de Salud de esa organización que lleva el mismo nombre, señaló que las enfermedades de este vital órgano representan la primera causa de muerte no sólo en el país sino a nivel mundial tanto en hombres como en mujeres; esto debido a que se ha incurrido en tres graves problemas: malos hábitos de alimentación, dejar de hacer ejercicio y el alto nivel de estrés emocional adquirido, todo esto es veneno para el corazón.
Añadió, “a nivel mundial las enfermedades cardiacas son el mayor asesino que la humanidad a tenido, porque éstas matan más personas que el SIDA, la tuberculosis, el paludismo y otras patologías”.
El especialista en ginecología dijo, como ejemplo, que “en el mundo mueren cada año 8.6 millones de mujeres por enfermedades cardiacas, de las cuales 3.4 millones mueren por isquemia (angina de pecho); 3 millones fallecen por infarto y 2.2 millones de féminas mueren por otro tipo de causas cardiacas como la fiebre reumática, cuadros infecciosos e inflamatorios del corazón
Añadió, “en el mundo esto es una catástrofe, porque en Sudamérica la posibilidad que tiene una mujer de morir por problemas cardiacos es 150 veces más que en EU, por lo que esto tiene que ver con el estado de desarrollo de los países y los estándares de vida en cuanto a salud, alimentación, etc.”.
Señaló, “anteriormente se pensaba que las enfermedades cardiovasculares eran de los hombres, y hoy estadísticamente no hay mucha diferencia, porque desde la época de los 70’s la mujer se ha venido incorporando a la vida productiva, lo que la ha sometido a un estado permanente de competencia, porque la fémina siempre está en desventaja desde el punto de vista laboral, tiene que esforzarse más y por tanto su nivel de estrés incrementa”.
Reiteró que en nuestro país las enfermedades del corazón también constituyen la primera causa de muerte y anualmente ocurren cerca de 70 mil defunciones por este motivo, la más frecuente es la enfermedad isquémica del corazón, de las cuales el 58 por ciento son hombres y 42 mujeres. No obstante cada día estas cifras se están emparejando porque la mujer está incurriendo en muchos malos hábitos (dietéticos, adicciones, estrés). Todo ello hace que la mujer transforme todo el entorno de seguridad que antes de los 50’s estaba envuelta y ahora la situación no es igual”.
Añadió, “en Michoacán, al igual que en muchos estados la población está sometida a una serie de riesgos inevitables como la edad, genética, historia familiar de patología cardiovascular, pero por otro lado hay otros factores que si se pueden modificar como el tabaquismo, los malos hábitos alimentarios, el sedentarismo y el estrés que conducen al sobrepeso y obesidad, lo cual desencadena diabetes, hipertensión arterial, síndrome metabólico e insuficiencia renal”.
Subrayó que anteriormente se pensaba que las enfermedades cardiacas eran de zonas urbanas, lo cual no es así, toda vez que reveló que en el año 2007 se hizo un estudio en una población rural de Michoacán que arrojó que la población indígena está consumiendo toda una dieta rica en grasas saturadas: mantequillas, aceites quemados, comidas chatarras, fritos, etc., que alteran los vasos sanguíneos”.
Comentó “en Zamora alrededor del 12 por ciento de las muertes que se presentaron en el Hospital General en 2012, fecha que estuvo al frente de este nosocomio, fueron por enfermedad cardiovascular y de ellas por enfermedad isquémica”, concluyó.
