-Mujeres con variadas parejas sexuales son más susceptibles a padecerlo

Del 10 al 16 de agosto se desarrolla en la clínica 82 de Romero del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) la campaña “el cáncer de cuello uterino, más cerca de lo que parece”, Se trata de una campaña de detección de cáncer cervicouterino; mediante el estudio del papanicolau; así como promoción de la salud, dirigida a mujeres de entre 25 a 64 años de edad, señaló Eduardo Vega Espinoza, director médico de la clínica 82 de Romero de Torres del IMSS.
A esta campaña se suman diversos departamentos de esta clínica: trabajo social, enfermería y área medica “se estarán dando pláticas educativas con información sobre la enfermedad citada, promoción de la mejora de los estilos de vida saludables, promoción del ejercicio y la dieta, platicas de la sexualidad responsable, el uso del preservativo, y disminución del consumo de tabaco”.
Comentó que pasada esta semana se informará a las mujeres que realicen el estudio, sobre los resultados “no tenemos una meta específica, sin embargo en cada consulta médica que tengamos estaremos exhortando a las mujeres del rango de edad citado a realizarse el estudio”.
Dijo “las mujeres no deben tener ninguna duda, ni temor de hacerse el Papanicolaou. Se trata de una prueba que se hace en el cuello de la matriz, expertos la analizan y cuando aparece un resultado en calidad de sospecha, se identifica, localiza y se envía a la especialidad correspondiente de ginecología ubicada en la clínica 4 de la Luneta también de esta ciudad”.
Indicó que afortunadamente poco a poco se han roto los tabús para que las mujeres se hagan la prueba, no obstante dijo “las féminas con vida sexual activa que no tienen una pareja estable, a veces son a quienes se les dificulta acercarse por el temor de que uno les deba hacer esa pregunta y hay quienes les da pena decirlo; otro tabú que se ha identificado es que hay mujeres cuya pareja tiene el problema de celotipia y les prohíben que alguien las revise. Son los menos afortunadamente”.
Señaló que más que tabúes, lo que ha propiciado que la valoración se posponga o no se la realicen las mujeres, se debe a la falta de tiempo de la paciente “a veces acuden a su consulta con un tiempo muy limitado e invitarlas a que se esperen media hora más para su exploración clínica no disponen de ese tiempo”.
Indicó que las mujeres interesadas a realizarse el estudio deben ser derechohabientes y presentarse al consultorio de atención preventiva integral ubicado al interior de la clínica.
Enumero los principales factores de riesgo del cáncer cervicouterino “antecedentes genético, tener familiares que hayan padecido algún tipo de cáncer; obesidad, tabaquismo; así como contar con múltiples parejas sexuales”.
Hizo las siguientes recomendaciones a las mujeres “ el uso de protección de anticonceptivos de tipo de barrera que tienen más de una pareja sexual, a hacerse el chequeo del Papanicolaou a partir de los 25 años de manera anual, evitar fumar”, finalizó.
