El Jaconense Claudio Zamudio Godínez fue pieza clave para que la Selección Mexicana Sub 17 se coronara Bicampeón del Torneo de CONCACAF tras derrotar a Honduras con marcador de 3-0; además, México obtuvo su pase a la Copa del Mundo Sub-17 Chile 2015, a celebrarse del 17 de octubre al 8 de noviembre.
Claudio Zamudio recibió pase aéreo de Kevin Lara (autor del primer gol mexicano) en el centro del área y definió de cabeza para anotar el segundo tanto para el Tri Sub 17, al minuto 14 del primer tiempo, en partido celebrado en San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Actualmente el oriundo de Jacona forma parte de Fuerzas Básicas de Monarcas, al igual que el destacado cancerbero zamorano Ángel Malagón. Sus primeros pininos los ejecutó siendo integrante de la Escuela Municipal de Futbol de Zamora “Carlos Sebille Rinaldi”.
Cabe destacar, que Zamudio Godínez también fue seleccionado nacional de la categoría Sub 15 en 2013; en juego logró anotar durante el encuentro de preparación que realizó el Tri Sub 15 ante Pumas Sub 16, previo a su participación con el combinado mexicano durante la Copa México de Naciones, celebrada en agosto de ese año.
Asimismo es importante mencionar que gracias a su talento ascendente, el jaconense a mediados de enero recibió llamado a integrarse como seleccionado nacional, no solo de la Sub 17, sino también a formar parte del Tri Sub 20.
