La mano de obra la trajeron de zonas cerriles de municipios aledaños

Más de cinco mil hectáreas de fresa se estima plantaron productores en esta región, la cual comprende los municipios de Zamora, Jacona, Tangancícuaro, Ixtlán, Santiago Tangamandapio, Chavinda y Pajacuarán. Además de que en este año se extendió el cultivo hacia otros 3 municipios: Chilchota, Tlazazalca y Ecuandureo La plantación inició a principios de agosto y culminó la primera quincena de este de este mes, señaló Octaviano Magaña Ortiz, integrante del Consejo Nacional de la Fresa.
Señaló que el cultivo de fresa ha ido en aumento paulatinamente, debido a que se trata de una frutilla rentable, aunque el entrevistado admitió que ya tienen varios años con problemas de mano de obra, “los fresicultores salieron a buscar gente fuera de la zona, se fueron a pequeños poblados de temporal donde no hay mucho trabajo y de ahí estuvieron trayendo la gente diariamente y regresándola en los mismos camiones por la tarde”.
Añadió que sobre todo trajeron gente del norte del estado: de San Juan de Moreno, por el rumbo de Churintzio; la Yerbabuena, por el rumbo de Tlazazalca y poblados de la Sierra: Ocumicho, Patamban, Cocucho; así como hacia los que habitan cerros por el rumbo de Los Reyes y Jiquilpan.
Señaló que de la superficie global, un 70 por ciento de la producción cuenta con macro túnel; un 20 por ciento corresponde a la media tecnología donde los productores ocupan un equipo de riego medio, una red de cintillas que son el sistema de riego por goteo y además una cobertura que cubren las camas o surcos que se llama acolchado, y el 10 por ciento restante corresponde al sistema tradicional.
Explicó, “para la plantación de la tecnología de macro túnel se generan mil 70 jornales por hectárea; de la plantación de la media tecnología se requieren 800 jornales, para la plantación tradicional 600”.
Añadió que el precio de la frutilla aún es difícil predecir, “siempre dependemos de la oferta y la demanda, ya quisiéramos los agricultores que tuviera un precio que nos diera la oportunidad de sacar costos y ganarle, pero no sabemos el comportamiento del mercado estadounidense”.
Dijo, “esperamos que la situación climatice para la frutilla sea favorable, que no nos vayan afectar las granizadas y heladas, como la que nos cayó hace poco en Zamora. Afortunadamente esa sólo llegó a la zona urbana, no afectó a la zona rural. Si el clima es favorable para nuestra producción agrícola se generen más jornales en las cosechas, tendremos s más empleo y derraman económica”, concluyó.
